The Author: Madeleine Taylor
Madeleine Taylor is a senior public sector leader, Board Chair, speaker, and mentor with over a decade of experience leading strategic procurement, infrastructure programs, and reform across government and industry. Based in Canberra, she currently heads the Property, Procurement and Programs portfolio at ACT Courts and Tribunal.
A passionate advocate for values-driven leadership and women's career advancement, Madeleine has built a reputation for blending commercial rigour with real-world impact. She has spoken at leading procurement, facilities, and risk management conferences across the Asia-Pacific and was awarded the Jacinta Bartlett Award for Individual Excellence in Procurement by Procurement Australia in 2019 and the ACT Government JACS Director General's Award for Safety Leadership in 2025. As a long-time mentor and board advisor, she supports emerging female leaders through initiatives like the SoldierOn Veteran Mentoring Program, ACT Government Veterans Program, and Women in Procurement and Supply Conference.
In her debut book, Make Your Move: The Australian Woman's Roadmap to Executive Leadership, Pay Equity, and Career Confidence, Madeleine shares the tools, stories, and strategies that helped her, and many others, rise through the ranks without burning out or giving in. Grounded in Australian workplace realities, this book is both a career guide and a call to action for women ready to lead on their own terms.
